We all recognise that waste disposal has become an increasing expense, operating in an environmental maze of control legislation. However, the Collins policy of investing in people, equipment and technology ensures that we can recover the highest percentage of recyclable material as possible at the lowest cost to our customers. The reduction of landfill is a goal we are constantly striving to achieve.
Skip waste is processed at our licensed waste transfer station at Folly Farm, Tattingstone (site registration number EAWML71129). We are highly efficient in recycling the waste we receive with the aid of trommels, two picking stations, a soil and sand screener, concrete crusher plus a shredder to reduce volume.
We aim to help push the residual waste to RDF, helping fuel the country with electricity rather than landfill.
We have recently in 2021 became a member of the Green Compass scheme with our PAS402 accreditation for excellence in Health, safety, environmental and quality. We pride ourselves on what we do, really believing in making a difference for the future generations.
